It was a bit of a swallow for the virtual reality media company Yondr, from Beveren, when the American software giant Microsoft announced earlier this week that it would stop using Altspace, one of the most important platforms in that virtual world, the so-called Metaverse. Altspace was already a virtual home for about 177,000 people worldwide. Yondr’s customers, including large companies such as Proximus and Coca-Cola, had also been given a place in it. Those customers have not yet lost their virtual world, says the Wase company now, but the fallback options are still scarce at the moment.
