On April 3, 2020, as soon as the confinement began due to the effects of the famous covid-19 pandemic, it occurred to me to do a live on social networks with some of my children, with whom at that time I was in Bogotá, whose only The purpose was to meet with relatives who were in other cities. That time of relaxation, music and fun that we broadcast on my YouTube channel was the first stone of what would later become the talk show on social networks that was already popular in Colombia and is known today as La Parranda de Nain.
On Thursday, April 23 of last year, we started a series of interviews on Instagram with women who sing or play vallenato, then at the request of the public we went to Facebook and later we integrated simultaneously with YouTube, and there we managed to interview many vallenato women artists of all ages and residents in different cities of the country.
The program was gaining so much strength that some Vallenato artists offered to give interviews, and that was where La Parranda de Nain officially emerged, a name given to it by the same followers. We chose Saturday at 6:00 pm, we delimited the time in 1 hour 30 minutes and we have already shared with a good part of the composers and interpreters of our music, in that successful space.
I have been receiving emails and calls for months from many young people who are talented and who want to make their way into the difficult task of vallenato musical art, for which they require a showcase, and that is where with my team we have decided to allocate part of our program for a virtual meeting or festival that we call ‘The new stars’, and that we will carry out from next April in La Parranda de Nain.
The Festival ‘The new stars’ has three types of competition, namely: accordion players, singers and Unpublished song. The accordion players and singers contests will be held in the youth and children’s categories, the first goes from 13 to 20 years of age and the second from 6 to 12 years of age.
Those who are interested in participating in this virtual contest must register on the website www.laparrandadenain.comThey must also attach a video with the interpretation of a song, with which a pre-qualifying round will be held by a suitable jury, previously chosen by the organizers.
As of Saturday, April 24, 2021, the live presentations of each of the previously selected participants will begin, and in each program with the participation of the connected public, as a member of the jury, one participant will be eliminated, while those who continue may participate in the following rounds, until reaching the winners in each modality, who will have the opportunity to receive as a prize the recording of a single with its respective video. Thus was born this new virtual contest called: The new stars.
