Representatives of the Central America and Mexico Youth Fund (Camy Fund) of the Seattle International Foundation (SIF) and the Cultural Center of Spain in Tegucigalpa (CCET), inaugurated yesterday, Monday, March 8, the unique exhibition “They change the world” .
“They change the world” is an unpublished and unique virtual exhibition of its kind that presents the stories of 14 Latin American women, feminists and activists who began their resistance processes during their childhood and adolescence to confront inequality and transform the spaces that inhabit. Their stories of struggle and determination show the important role that girls and adolescents play in building a better world and as political subjects and allies of social movements.
The authors of these stories are: Ana Juárez and Karina Sic (Guatemala), Denisse Sevilla (Nicaragua), Emily Reyes (Mexico), Emma Chacón (Costa Rica), Germana Montalvo (Bolivia), Jinna Rosales (Honduras), Joseline Velásquez ( Guatemala), Katherine Reyes (Honduras), María José Díaz (Nicaragua), Mili Saavedra (Argentina), Shari Izaguirre (Honduras), Sofía Regalado (Mexico) and Verónica Vera (Ecuador).
Each story in the show is accompanied by an illustration carefully crafted by a Latin American artist: Elizabeth Argüello (Costa Rica), Ambar Nicté (Guatemala), Sucely Puluc @Molcajette (Guatemala), Andrea Fonseca (Honduras), Marcela Lara (Honduras) , Karen Medina aka Yamsan (Honduras), Laura Mendoza (El Salvador), Eunice Escoto (Honduras), Monse Navas (Ecuador), Rose Ramos (Nicaragua), Wangky Sketch (Nicaragua), Lía Vallejo (Honduras), Sozapato (Ecuador) and Eve Alcalá G. aka. Editing knife (Mexico).
The exhibition was opened on International Women’s Day, by revealing the website on the @fondocamy and @CCETegucigalpa networks at 10:00 in the morning.
The presentation event will be done through Fb Live, this Wednesday, March 10, at 6:00 in the afternoon, at @CCETegucigalpa.
