“Virgin River”: filming of the fifth season is underway

The fourth season of Virgin River premiered on Netflix on July 20, 2022. The romantic series about the nurse ran for weeks MelMonroe (played by “This Is Us” star Alexandra Breckenridge) in the top 10 of the Netflix charts in Germany. A short time later, the stars of the popular series with the Filming of the fifth season Start! Now (almost 5 months later) the new season seems to be over. Unfortunately, there is no exact start date for season five. Even though filming has finished, post-production of the series is underway, which means that the material from the shooting needs to be edited. This may still take some time. Many fans are hoping for the new episodes to be available on Netflix by the end of this year. However, a spring 2023 start is more realistic.

The Feel Good series has been delighting viewers since 2019. Nurse Mel leaves her life in Los Angeles to make a fresh start in the small river town. She supports grumpy doctor Vernon Mullins (Tim Matheson) in his practice and falls in love with handsome bar owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). But gradually her past catches up with her, which Mel reluctantly faces.

Season 3 not only ends with Doc Mullins fearing for the life of his wife Hope and Jack’s friend Brady suspected of shooting him, it becomes even more blatant: Mel confesses to Jack that she’s pregnant. However, he doesn’t know who the father is! The owner of the bar is completely shocked, after all he also wanted to ask for Mel’s hand.

In the new episodes, Jack struggles with the situation, as does Mel, both trying to figure out what pregnancy and unclear paternity means to their relationship. Plus, Jack has his own demons to contend with. Again and again the ex-marine reaches for alcohol, which Mel is not at all enthusiastic about. There is plenty to do in other areas as well Virgin River: Brady, suspected of shooting Jack, is said to be innocent after all There’s also a newcomer to town who claims to be Doc Mullins’ nephew.
