Virgin Media Four now available in HD on Sky in Republic of Ireland

Starting from April 27th, subscribers of Sky in the Republic of Ireland can access Virgin Media’s fourth channel. Sky subscribers can now access this general entertainment channel featuring UEFA Youth League games from 6pm onwards on its launch night. Virgin Media Four will be the first HD-only channel in the Virgin Media Ireland’s lineup, without SD simulcast on satellite. The service will launch on Sky Q/Sky+HD at channel 160 while it will appear on channel 159 on Sky Glass/Stream. Virgin Media Four HD has already been tested on satellite and will be available at a frequency polarization of 12363V, symbol rate of 27500, with a DVB-S2 8PSK mode, and a service ID of 5044. Northern Ireland viewers may receive overspill Saorview reception. However, Virgin Media More, the fifth channel of the group, remains exclusive to Virgin Media Ireland’s TV service customers. Note that Virgin Media Ireland’s TV channels are not distributed outside of the Republic of Ireland.
