New York –
An airline flight Virgin Atlantic destination New York, United States of America (USA), was canceled just moments before the plane took off from Manchester Airport, Englishafter the passenger noticed from his seat window that several screws were missing from the plane’s wing.
As reported New York Post, Tuesday (23/1/2024), the incident occurred on a Virgin Atlantic flight with the Manchester-New York City route, and flight number VS127, on January 15. Fox Business media reported that the flight used a type of aircraft Airbus A330.
Phil Hardy, a 41-year-old British passenger, noticed four screws missing on the wing of the plane near his seat, while the flight attendant was giving a safety briefing to passengers. He decided to report this to the cabin crew.

“I am flyer “which was fine, but my partner didn’t like the information I was conveying to him and started to panic, and I tried to calm his mind as best as I could,” said Hardy when speaking to Kennedy News Agency.
“I think it’s best to tell the flight attendants about this to be on the safe side,” he added.
A representative for Virgin Atlantic said that aircraft technicians were immediately called to carry out maintenance checks on the Airbus A330 before it was scheduled to take off for John F Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
Video footage shot by Hardy shows one of the plane’s technicians climbing onto the plane’s wing and using a screwdriver to fiddle with some screws.
Hardy said that airline staff repeatedly assured him that there were no safety problems with the plane’s wings. However, Hardy admitted that his concerns were growing after an incident involving an Alaska Airlines plane window panel falling off in mid-air.
