(Greece – Netherlands 0–1) Virgil van Dijk sent the Netherlands well on their way to the European Championship and gave Norway a very helping hand.

Greece held out for over 90 minutes against the Netherlands, but a penalty on the brink means that a football miracle is needed if Greece is to secure a place in next year’s European Championship.
Virgil van Dijk tripped towards the penalty area and scored a 1-0 victory.
As things stand now, the Netherlands thus have a direct qualification place and have played one game less than the Greeks.
In addition, the Dutch have by far the best match program again. They will face Gibraltar and Ireland, while Greece will face France.
This means that the Netherlands only need a win against Gibraltar for the EC place to be in the box as they are ahead of Greece on head-to-head.Head-to-head.The Netherlands beat Greece at home and with equal points will be the team that advances.
This is very good news for Norway. Now the chance of reaching the playoffs is 47.1 percent.
Norway is out of the running in the regular EC qualification, and is now dependent on the results in the other qualification groups if they are to get an extra chance to go to the EC.
Group B is one of them. Because the Netherlands is among the teams that are at the top of the ranking and that Norway is well served by qualifying directly for the EC. Monday’s result is therefore very positive for Ståle Solbakken and co.
Norway is either dependent on:
1) At least 16 out of 22 teams at the top of the Nations League ranking qualify directly through ordinary EC qualification. Germany is already qualified as the host nation.
Or that:
2) At least 4 of the 7 the teams that are ahead of Norway at level B in the Nations League ranking qualify directly. Published:
