Virat Kohli Makes History as Fourth Highest Run Scorer in International Cricket

Pune: Indian superstar Virat Kohli wrote history in international cricket. Kohli holds the record of being the fourth highest run scorer in international cricket. Kohli made history by playing against Bangladesh in the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

Kohli finished fourth with 35 runs in the match. Kohli surpassed Sri Lanka’s legend Mahela Jayawardena to reach the fourth spot. India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is the player who scored the most international runs. Sachin Tendulkar has 34357 runs from 782 innings.

Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara is second. The player scored 28016 runs from 666 innings. Ricky Ponting of Australia with 27483 runs from 668 innings is in the third position. Jayawardene had 25957 runs in his account from 725 innings. This is what Kohli overcame. Kohli needed only 567 innings for this. Kohli is the only player in the top five among the current players.

Kohli also holds another record in the match. Kohli achieved the record of becoming the first player to score 1000 runs for India by coming in at number three in the ICC Cricket World Cup.
