Virat Kohli Joins Elite Club: Achieves 9,000 Test Runs as India Fights Back Against New Zealand

Kohli is behind Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sunil Gavaskar to reach the milestone of 9,000 Test runs. But Kohli needed more innings than other players to reach this milestone. Kohli reaches 9,000 runs from 197 innings.

Dravid, who achieved this feat in 176 innings, is ahead. Sachin had to play 179 innings and Gavaskar 192 to achieve this feat. After crossing 8,000 in 169 innings in 2022, Kohli needed 28 innings to reach 1,000 Test runs.

With this, Kohli became the second fastest player for India. The Bengaluru Test is the 536th match. The player surpassed Dhoni to play 535 matches. Sachin is ahead of Kohli who has played 664 matches. Kohli also crossed the milestone of 27,000 international runs in the Test against Bangladesh.

Kohli is the fourth highest test run scorer for India. Sachin Tendulkar with 15921 runs, Dravid with 13288 runs and Gavaskar with 10122 runs are ahead.
