KOMPAS.com – A video showing an officer throwing things from a plane Lion Air, viral on social media on Saturday (29/1/2022).

The video as uploaded by the Twitter account this.

“The employees of this company deserve an award for their fast and efficient work,” wrote the uploader in his tweet.

The tweet was also accompanied by a 17-second video showing an officer in black throwing and rolling items from the cabin to the trunk car.

As of Saturday (29/1/2022), the tweet had been retweeted 3,825 times and liked more than 8,000 times by other Twitter users.

Then, how does Lion Air explain this?

Explanation of Lion Air

Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air Group Danang Mandala Prihantoro confirmed that his party was investigating the incident in the video.

“Lion Air’s explanation from the video circulating and developing is that Lion Air is currently still conducting a further investigation process,” said Danang, when contacted Kompas.com, Saturday (29/1/2022).

It is still not known whether the items rolled by the officers belonged to the passengers or not.

According to him, passenger baggage is not placed in the aircraft cabin.

“To our knowledge, passenger baggage is not placed in the aircraft cabin,” said Danang.

“The arrangement and placement of passenger baggage is at the bottom of the plane,” he continued.

Conditions for luggage in the aircraft cabin

Reported from the official website Lion Air, provisions for hand carry, the rules that apply are:

Each passenger (except infants) is allowed to bring one cabin baggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg and one personal item such as a laptop bag/ baby equipment/ reading materials/ camera/ hand luggage. The maximum dimensions of cabin baggage are 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm.

1. A laptop in a thin laptop bag is considered a personal item. Laptops in larger laptop bags will be counted as part of the carry-on allocation.
2. Lion Air really appreciates the attention and cooperation of every passenger. Lion Air reminds all passengers, cabin baggage must comply with the dimensions and weight limits and be stored properly. If you actually carry oversized or too heavy baggage, so that the baggage can be transported as checked baggage.

2. Everything in liquid form should not be more than 100 ml.

3. Luggage in a closed overhead rack (compartment) or under the front seat.

1. Carry-on baggage must fit under the passenger seat when stored, so that it does not slide sideways towards the aisle.
2. Carry-on baggage stored on overhead racks must be securely attached and cabin crew able to close the racks.
3. When placing personal items in the seat pocket, the position of the items from the back of the chair must be in a vertical line and in such a position that the items do not protrude towards the aisle.

4. Some special items (types) are not suitable as checked baggage due to their nature, for which they must request permission to carry them into the cabin.

1. Valuables such as cash, financial documents, jewellery, cameras, cell phones, portable electronic devices and other forms of valuables must be kept alone in a closed overhead rack or compartment or under the seat in front of the passenger seat.
2. Baby necessities such as diapers, milk bottles and food to be consumed during the flight do not exceed 5 kg.
3. The needs of passengers with disabilities, such as walking sticks, wheelchairs, crutches/supports or other assistive equipment.
4. Toiletries or care products (toiletries) in the form of liquids such as shampoo, skin softener (lotion), soap, perfume or other items are arranged properly and safely. Make sure they are arranged in a special pouch-shaped container.
