On Tuesday evening, Malaysia’s English-language newspaper, The Star, appears to contain landslides that also occurred in Serdang (another name for Seri Kembangan), Selangor, Malaysia.

In the article, it was explained that five vehicles parked on Jalan LP1A/2 Lestari Perdana, Serdang, Selangor were damaged by a landslide in the area on Tuesday night.

The director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, Norazam Khamis, said that his party received an emergency call regarding the landslide incident at 18.38 local time.

“Six firefighters and officers with engines from the Serdang fire station rushed to the scene,” Norazam said The Star.

According to him, when firefighters arrived, they had seen ground debris near the drain which resulted in damage to five vehicles parked nearby.

Meanwhile, Norazam ensured that there were no casualties in the landslide incident in Selangor.

“There were no victims involved,” Norazam said.

Cracks visible in the ground before the landslide occurred

Alter said he was in a daze when the road finally collapsed.

He said that the avalanche was a very scary moment for him.

“It happened right in front of us. Thankfully no one was hurt,” he said.

When asked if landslides were a regular occurrence, Alter said that it had happened in the past year as well.

According to him, shop owners around the location have filed complaints.

“Some light maintenance was done last year. But this landslide was the worst,” said Alter.

After the landslide in Selangor occurred, workers in 17 commercial places near the crash site were immediately evacuated. This was done after the Subang Jaya City Council conducted an assessment in the area.
