“What more evidence is needed?” Sitorus questioned on X, formerly known as Twitter, highlighting the stark footage of the event. “So, what evidence is not enough? Hadeh sir poll sir pol,” he added, using a playful jab at authorities.
Sitorus expressed concern over the lack of swift action by the police despite the compelling evidence.
The tragic incident occurred in Semarang, Central Java, and involved officers from the local narcotics unit. Gamma, a student at SMK 4 Semarang City and a member of the Paskibra, a flag-raising youth organization, was killed in the shooting. Two of his companions, Satria and Adam, sustained injuries, with Satria suffering a gunshot wound to the hand and Adam grazed by a bullet.
The Central Java Regional Police announced plans to exhume Gamma’s body as part of the ongoing investigation into the cause of death.
Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Central Java Regional Police, Police Commissioner Dwi Subagio, stated that this step is crucial to support the legal process. The officer involved in the shooting, Aipda RZ, was a member of the Semarang Police Narcotics Unit.
The case has drawn parallels to high-profile police shootings in the US, igniting discussions about police accountability, transparency, and the use of deadly force. The outcome of the investigation and the subsequent legal proceedings are being closely watched both domestically and internationally.
