Viral Video of Collision Involving Isuzu Panther and Pajero Sport in Jakarta: Owner Clarifies Incident and Apologizes

Jakarta

Not long ago, a viral collision between Isuzu Panther and Pajero Sport went against the direction. Now, there is a clarification and apology from the owner of the viral Pajero Sport.

The incident between Pajero Sport and Panther occurred near a railroad crossing, Cinta Kasih Village, Muara Enim, South Sumatra. The owner of the TikTok account @_ntdn.esenzaa, who has confirmed that he owns the Pajero Sport, clarified this incident.

“Clarification is not for justification, yes, but for an apology and my position on the wrong track, but not on purpose,” said the account that claimed to be the owner of the Pajero Sport when confirmed by detik.com, Thursday (27/4/2023).

In the video circulating virally, at first it was seen that the Pajero Sport car was allegedly taking the opposite lane to try to overtake. The traffic conditions looked congested but the Pajero Sport car with plate B still took the opposite direction.

Apparently, from his clarification, the owner of the Pajero Sport reasoned that he was taking the opposite direction because he wanted to overtake a truck that was thought to have broken down.

“I stopped in a traffic jam while waiting for my car in front of the road. In the queue there was a truck that was not running (I thought it had broken down) because the car in front of the truck had started to run. So there was empty space in front of the truck. Then 3 cars in front of me overtook me the truck then goes to the left to fill the empty space,” he wrote in his TikTok account quoted on Thursday (27/4/2023).

After taking the right lane to intend to overtake the truck, it turned out that the truck did not break down. Absurdly, when he was about to take the left lane, the truck kept going. He didn’t have room to go left so stopped in the opposite lane.

“I saw that there was free space for 1 more then I overtook but when the position was beside the truck suddenly the truck was running again and I wanted to take the lane to the left, I couldn’t,” he added.

He said the car he was driving was stuck in that position because there was no room to return to the left lane. Then, from the opposite direction there was a car that was in its path. Until finally the incident of brushing between Isuzu Panther and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport happened.

“We were in a trapped position and then took the initiative to move forward slowly while looking for a gap to get into the queue but couldn’t. Then I saw in front of me that there were 2 cars that were in the right lane towards the railroad tracks, they were slowly able to move forward and were given space by travelers who on the left lane, I hope someone will give way but from the opposite direction the car has started to run from the railroad gate,” he explained.

According to him, before being hit by the Isuzu Panther, the car had crossed paths with the Grand Livina and another car. Isuzu Panther became the third car that faced each other but eventually bumped into each other.

“When I had passed half of my car, I suddenly heard a loud crash behind me (children and wife screamed in surprise) when my car stopped.”

“In that condition, I saw it in the rear view mirror and then my car advanced so that it could escape the collision. After that, the Panther car was seen advancing and then moving to the side of the road and immediately started again so I could not communicate further with the Panther owner,” he added.

Admit Wrong, Apologize, and Be Ready to Take Responsibility

The owner of the Pajero Sport admitted his mistake because he had taken the opposite direction. He also felt that the Isuzu Panther driver accidentally hit his car. In the photo shared, the Pajero Sport has dents and abrasions on the rear bumper.

“From the start, I thought the Phantom car accidentally hit and I also felt that my position was not right/wrong because it was in the right lane, so I accepted the consequences.”

He apologized for the incident to the Panther’s owner and other road users. In addition, his party is also willing to take responsibility for the damage suffered by Panther.

“On this occasion I would like to apologize profusely to the Panther driver and other drivers for making it uncomfortable. Once again I convey that this incident was not intentional,” write it again.
