West Ham, a team where Mexican Javier “Chicharito” Hernández was a member, reported that he gave his player Kurt Zouma an unusual punishment that went viral on social networks: He imposed “the highest possible fine” for mistreating his cat.
The sanction derives from the publication of a video in which the midfielder appears mistreating the animal, his pet.
A video obtained by The Sun allegedly shows footballer Kurt Zouma kicking and hitting his cat.
It’s absolutely disgusting and disturbing footage. I hope he is prosecuted for animal cruelty. pic.twitter.com/3K7xMeHh5j

The very expensive fine to which Zouma is exposed is generally two weeks’ wages, which in his case would be around 300 thousand euros.
“The player has immediately accepted the fine and has asked that the amount be allocated to an organization for the protection of animal rights,” West Ham reported.
The association for the defense of animals, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), reported that the cats were removed from the footballer.
“We would like to reassure everyone as we are investigating and the cats are safe. We take care of them,” the RSPCA posted on its Twitter account.
He added that “Kurt is full of remorse and, like everyone at the club, fully understands the intensity of the reaction to the incident and the need for action to be taken,” he added.
A petition on the change.org page, which also went viral on the Internet, claims legal action against the Zouma, and so far it has been a great success, with almost 170 thousand signatures today Wednesday.
