For four years, Irfan Musa, a teenager from Malaysia, endured pain in his genitals.
Irfan is an active child who plays sports. When he was about to run while playing shot put, he started to feel pain in the area around his genitals.
“But because I remember being sick regularly, it will go away after a while, so I don’t go to the clinic for examination,” explained Irfan, quoted from Mstar.
Irfan admitted that the pain he experienced often came and went. Generally, when you want to urinate, the pain comes even to the point of bleeding.
That’s when he decided to go to a regular clinic to do an initial check. The doctor advised Irfan to return to check at the hospital if complaints were felt again. However, Irfan only allowed his condition because he felt the pain would go away after he slept.
Apart from that, another reason that prevented Irfan from going to see a doctor was his fear of needles.
Irfan’s condition was only discovered when he went to the hospital after feeling severe pain in his genitals after being kicked by a ball.
“The doctor did an ultrasound check. If you look at it, it turns out that my left testicle was knotted (testicular torsion). The doctor said, it was rotten because I let it go for four years,” said Irfan.
Recalling his experience of going through the surgical process, he admits that he felt a great fear. He had to be hospitalized for 3 days for the process of removing the testicles.
“Now I only have one testicle,” said Irfan.
Irfan is grateful because during the process, the family continues to provide encouragement. Even though he had received insults from friends around because he lost one of his testicles, Irfan still tried to be patient and ignore it.
“Don’t be like me, who waited a long time until it became chronic and lost one of my testicles,” said Irfan, leaving a message for anyone who is feeling pain and is reluctant to see a doctor.
“Go to the doctor immediately so that initial treatment can be taken before it’s too late,” concluded Irfan.
