SUKOHARJO, KOMPAS.TV – Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan opened his voice regarding the collapse of the Tambakboyo bridge in Tawangsari District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java.
According to the Head of Police, the collapse of the bridge connecting Tambakboyo Village with Blerelong Village, Tawangsari Sub-district was due to loose poles.
Wahyu said the bridge worth Rp. 10.8 billion collapsed at around 09.30 WIB on Friday (12/31/2021).
Initially, Wahyu said, a number of workers were checking because the bridge was deemed unbalanced.
“At around 08.00 WIB, as many as five workers checked the bolts and interlocking ropes for retaining the bridge because the interlocking ropes holding the bridge were felt to be unbalanced or loose,” Wahyu said as quoted by Antara. Kompas.com, Saturday (1/1/2022).
Because the rope was loose, the workers immediately made repairs to the alternating rope locking bolts.
However, at 09.30 WIB, the interlocking rope was released from the lock and caused the bridge to collapse into the river.

As a result of the incident, two workers were injured and immediately rushed to the Ir Soekarno Hospital, Sukoharjo.
“Both of them are conscious,” said the police chief.
