The Frankfurt start-up Viral Spoon wants to enable travel agencies and tour operators to automate their social media marketing using artificial intelligence. The founders Paul Kissel (l.), Samuel Stockhausen (m.) and Jochen Bloß advertise an inexpensive solution for generating personalized content.
Smaller companies in particular often do not have the human resources or time to carry out professional social media marketing, says Kissel in an interview with Reise vor9. Hiring a person exclusively for social media is too expensive for most smaller players; The same applies to specialized social media agencies. The entrepreneur, who runs the needs analysis tool Motravo alongside Viral Spoon, knows the situation from his own experience: his father runs a travel agency.
Company website determines the database
And this is how the promised automation should work: Viral Spoon scans the company’s website and creates a description that serves as the basis for creating posts. The tool uses all common AI solutions to create posts, explains Kissel. The preparatory configuration also includes determining colors as well as defining goals and the linguistic style that the social media posts should have.
A variety of different posting templates are available that can be selected by the user. For example, an uploaded image can be embedded into a suitable story without any effort. If necessary, users could also use the AI provider’s image database. “We guarantee 100% automation when using the selected social media channels,” promises the IT freak. Nothing will be published that has not been authorized by the customer. So users still have to take a quick look at their contributions.
More applications under construction
The integration of moving images based on videos provided by Viral Spoon or customers’ own content is still in the development stage. We are also working on creating detailed evaluations of the performance of marketing activities in order to make adjustments if necessary.
At the start, the start-up is offering three different packages. The basic package includes four automatically created posts per week and currently costs 49 euros per month. The range of services can be expanded as desired, says Kissel, who also envisions working with the headquarters of travel agency chains and cooperations in order to further individualize their posting specifications.
