Videos showing Roy Suryo laughing with his colleagues in the event Mercedes SL Club Indonesia is in the spotlight. The video emerged after Roy Suryo underwent an examination as a suspect in the Borobudur Temple stupa meme case and ended up not being detained.
In two examinations of the suspect at the Polda Metro Jaya, Roy Suryo left the investigator’s room in a sick condition. The viral video of Roy Suryo laughing out loud was responded to by the case reporter.
“From our side, Buddhists, when we see it, we feel like crying, it’s sad,” said Kevin Wu’s lawyer, Herna Sutana, as the reporter for Roy Suryo, when contacted, Tuesday (2/8/2022).

Herna said that his party had been cooperative in handling the case that ensnared Roy Suryo. He questioned the investigators who did not detain the former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) because reflecting on other blasphemy cases, the suspects could be detained.
“We reflect on the case of blasphemy that all of the suspects were immediately arrested. We also believe that it is the investigator’s authority not to detain. Even though it injures justice. Why? the law, but the legal process is treated differently,” said Herna.
Herna admitted that his party also empathized with Roy Suryo’s health condition, who was sick after being examined. However, he considered the video of Roy Suryo laughing out loud as a form of injustice in handling cases from the police.
“We actually obey the law. It’s clear that the legal treatment is different. Then the blasphemer should be arrested but this is not arrested,” he said.
“We’ll be fine, maybe he’s sick, we also have compassion to see him being carried and wearing a support for his neck. But just this morning, we saw the giggling and giggling going on tours that actually represented us about this injustice,” he added.
Furthermore, Herna said that his party would also send an open letter to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. He asked for equal law enforcement in the Roy Suryo case.
“Yes, tomorrow we plan to give a discount. We will read our open letter to the President, to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, to the National Police Chief. We want to ask why there is a different application of the law. We just need that clarity,” he added.

“Regarding the viral Roy Suryo who is touring motorbikes and so on, why is he not being detained, he is the reason he is sick, but outside of that he has such activities. Then in relation to that, what is the response of the Metro Police, right? detained. That’s the answer,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Police, Kombes E Zulpan, Tuesday (2/8).
