The video of the ojol who received a fictitious food order with a total order of up to Rp. 1 million was known to have gone viral since June 2, 2021. In the video uploaded to the TikTok account @infoojoljogja, the online ojek driver was telling the chronology of what happened to him.

According to him, the name of the online motorcycle taxi driver is Mukhoini. Then the name of the customer who made the order is Eva. In the video uploaded by @infoojoljogja, Mukhoini said that he immediately took the order because the location was close.

The driver only realized when he arrived at McD that the total order was Rp. 1 million and began to suspect that it was a fictitious order. Since it was close to a hangout, I immediately swiped it on the menu so that it was prepared there. But it turned out that the MCD had a lot of orders, I was surprised, maybe it was fictitious,” said Mukhoini.

Gojek’s VP of Corporate Affairs Food Ecosystem, Rosel Lavina, said Gojek condemns all kinds of customer actions that harm Gojek’s driver partners.

“Gojek driver partners who receive orders but are unable to deliver the order to the customer due to pranks, or actions in the form of jokes or ridicule aimed at entertainment and harm, can claim the order to the Gojek office. Or, directly donate the order to the Gojek office. Orphanage or Nursing Home in accordance with the applicable SOP provisions to get reimbursement

Meanwhile, Gojek’s Head of Regional Corporate Affairs, Arum Kurniasih Prasodjo, explained that the driver in Jogja who received the fictitious order did not suffer any material loss.

“Regarding the GoFood order incident that was experienced by one of the Gojek driver partners in Jogja, we ensure that no material losses were experienced by our driver partners,” said Arum to Kompas.com, Friday (4/6/2021).

Arum explained, Gojek uses GoFood Super Partner technology. Thus, orders made by customers are immediately received by McDonald’s merchants. Thus, drivers do not need to pay cash because payments to merchants are made through the Gojek driver account balance.

“The driver partner should receive cash from the customer. However, after the Gojek driver reports the fictitious order, Gojek immediately returns the driver partner account balance and blocks the account of the customer who made the order,” he said.
