LUMAJANG, KOMPAS.TV – A video showing a man throwing and kicking food that is thought to be an offering at the site of the eruption of Mount Semeru, Lumajang, East Java, has gone viral on social media.
In @Setiawan3833 on Twitter who uploaded the video, he explained that the food that was thrown away was an offering from the Ruwatan tradition of the residents of Sumbersari, Lumajang.
The Ruwatan tradition is carried out by residents to ask for safety from disasters after the eruption of Mount Semeru.

The video has been viewed more than 1 million times and re-shared more than 5 thousand times.

Responding to the viral video, the Regent of Lumajang Thoriqul Haq regretted the action of the man who threw the offerings.
Thoriqul regretted the action and called the man arrogant and sparked a religious dispute.
