Drill Music – Gang Criminal Background
Drill Music is a sub-genre of rap or trap that has been around since the early 2010s. Drill was made in Chicago, in a criminal scene of young rappers. The genre’s justification can be linked to a sudden surge in the homicide rate in some neighborhoods in Chicago. Musically, Drill is characterized by short tracks and dark instrumentals. In terms of content, it is primarily about violence. The language is simple and words are repeated many times. There is a long list of known murdered drill rappers. In Germany there is no drill music scene, in contrast to New York or London.
