If there’s one thing that’s great nowadays on social media, it’s the almost infinite videos of gadgets that promise to make us Homework easier than before. From fruit cutters, some more efficient than others, to strange cleaning tools that instantly make you miss the bucket and shovel.
Some of these tools go viral due to the genuine ingenuity behind them and others due to their manifest uselessness in achieving the objective for which they were designed. However, there are others that surprise because they were created to make a task that is already simple in itself easier, and what they achieve is to make it more complicated than it was.
This is the case of the bread cutting machine which has gone viral on different social networks in recent days. To cut bread you only need three things (or two, depending on your skill): a decent knife, a place to rest it, and a loaf of bread. From there, the work becomes mechanical and repetitive, depending on how many meters the bread measures, but never complicated.
The machine that proposes to replace the traditional knife to cut bread slices consists of a blade and a crank that moves itusing your hands to cut the bread, as if you were taking slices of any sausage. Of course, for many this mechanism does not seem to improve either in time or form the traditional task of cutting bread, and this has been noted on their social media profiles.
Although not all comments treated the product with humor, some recognized that could be practical depending on the cases, such as for elderly people without much strength or those who suffer from certain mobility problems. Also to cut all slices the same size or when necessary cut many breads, like in professional kitchens.
