Viral Clapboard House of the Poorest Family in Malaysia Amazes Netizens

Malaysia

This clapboard house is viral on social media, especially in Malaysia, because it is called the residence of the poorest family. The house went viral because even though it was simple on the outside, the inside amazed those who saw it.

The house went viral starting with the upload of Syed Azmi’s Facebook account. In the video that has gone viral, you can see that the household items are neatly arranged and beautifully decorated. It seems that the girl’s room is decorated with all-pink knick-knacks, making netizens confused.

A pink backpack is neatly slung to the wall. Pink nuanced wrapping paper is transformed into a wall wallpaper.

“I passed the poorest house and made me cry,” said Malaysian community activist Syed Azmi, who uploaded the viral home video.

Sharing his story with mStar, Syez Azmi said that the house caught his attention when he was conducting a survey of asnaf houses or groups of people who are entitled to receive zakat in Kelantan, Malaysia, recently. He represents a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Unity for Our Children (PUAK Payong).

“Every time I pass by the asnaf house, our focus is on helping the children. So, the children’s bedroom is one of the main ones, apart from that it is a place for learning at home,” he said.

“In some houses, this room really steals my attention,” continued Syed Azmi.

Syed Azmi said that the viral house was inhabited by a married couple and their three daughters. According to Azmi, the head of the household works as a truck driver and his wife is a housewife.

“Salaries and income are uncertain. There are three daughters who are all still in school. This family is only enough for food and school. No one in this family has debts or loans. Eat only what is necessary but not starve because there is no food,” he said.

Syed Azmi said that he called the family living in the house the poorest because apart from the erratic income of the head of the family, the occupants were also frequently flooded. They have to buy water to drink because every time a flood hits, well water cannot be used.

“Why am I talking about this family being the most difficult? Because they have well water but it smells and is not good for drinking. If there is a flood on the ground floor, mom and dad sit on the ground floor with no furniture. All the walls are full of stains, because it floods every year, said Syed Azmi.

Syed Azmi explained that the family home had an attic made just for his three daughters to sit and study.

“They even pulled the lights down and put them up at night. You can see that this family prioritizes school and cleanliness. No need to ask, you can see it from this house,” he explained.

He also said that the couple’s youngest child decorated his room beautifully. “Of the 10 houses I visited, this was the poorest but it didn’t look poor compared to the other houses they saw,” he said.

Syed Azmi uploaded a simple clapboard house but the inside amazed him because he wanted to show that poverty doesn’t mean living in a dirty and shabby house.

“In terms of their financial resources, they are the lowest. But even if they are poor, cleanliness is well taken care of. The toilets are clean even if some have water problems. They have good manners,” continued Syed Azmi.

“Even in their house there are readings on the wall such as prayers and hopes and words of motivation. I take all this as a lesson for me as well,” concluded Syed Azmi.

“Masya Allah.. her room is beautiful. It’s like a boutique,” said user Feda Omar.

“They are happy in their own way,” admired Jamilah Nasri’s account.

“Beautiful, good at decorating,” praised Nor Faiza’s account.
