One of them is the action of a marshal who prays on the side of the Mandalika race track. In the video uploaded by @Instalombok, a marshal is seen praying in the scorching heat of the track, and two of his colleagues talking.
Then there was a video that was shown on the official WSBK account, where a marshal played with mineral water bottles when it was raining, when the race was stopped. In the video, the marshal successfully plays the game flip bottle.
The WSBK race commentator was shocked and praised the marshal’s successful action in his first try. The commentator’s chatter from the beginning talked about the race, until it turned to discussing the marshal’s action in the rain.
Then there is another video which shows six marshals dancing in the rain when the race is not taking place. These marshals act like a bunch of musicians playing music.
There are also uploads on social media showing the marshal’s preparations before serving in the race held at the Mandalika Circuit.
This viral video seems to be an antidote to the rumor that had circulated that the marshal at Mandalika during the 2021 Asia Talent Cup (ATC) was not ready. At that time the number of marshals was said to be lacking and did not meet the qualifications, so ATC had to be postponed.
The role of the marshal is so important in a race, whether on a motorbike or a car, because he is the person who will be directly involved in the smooth running of the event and the safety of the drivers and other people in the circuit area.
Marshal is required to be responsive in reading the situation and communicating about the state of the circuit. In addition, they are also required to be able to provide first aid to drivers who have problems.
