Head of Public Relations Lampung Police Kombes Zahwani Pandra Arsyad gave an explanation regarding the viral photo. He said that initially the photo was taken to report the five members of the Police to their leadership. However, what is circulating, the police who seem to be holding an action.
“They secured an action poster from the Lampung People’s Action group persuasively in Bernung, Pesawaran Regency, Thursday (2/9), where President Jokowi was about to inaugurate the Way Sekampung Dam in Pringsewu Regency,” explained Pandra, Monday (6/9/2021).
He said the five police officers were persuading residents to avoid crowds and to ensure that the president’s activities run smoothly.
He said the residents’ action was led by Ustaz Royan, who planned to unveil 100 posters about fears of rising debts and justice in law enforcement between corruptors and clerics.
A number of things will be conveyed by the masses, from the demand for the release of Habib Rizieq Shihab (HRS) to the encouragement of a complete investigation into the Km 50 Tragedy.
“Police are responsible for the crossings that will be passed by Mr. Jokowi in rings 2 and 3,” said Pandra.
Regarding the photo of the poster, continued Pandra, this is a step by the National Police in carrying out security measures with predictive capabilities, responsibility, and fair transparency. In time pandemic COVID-19, of course there should be no crowded citizens.
“With that move, until there are people who present posters, we do the approach and understanding so as not to crowd during this pandemic,” he said.
Pandra added that when members approached persuasively, a number of residents responded well. So the members together with the leader of the action took a photo shoot with the poster to be submitted in a report to the leader.
“During the photo shoot by members to report to the leadership, Ustaz Royan also had time to ask his staff to take a photo and take it with real good intentions. However, soon it appeared and circulated as if the police were conducting a demonstration,” he said.
