There will be four teams in the new round of games. The Latvian Puppet Theater team with actor and director captain Edgars Kaufelds is the first to start. The second is the team of the Eduards Smilģas Theater Museum of the Latvian Academy of Culture, with Ralf Liepa, a 2nd year student of the Art Theater Directing Program, as captain.

The Latvian Theater Employee Union always helps us find and organize theater people for registration, and this cooperation is not the first year. For example, the team of the Latvian Puppet Theater with the actor captain Rihardas Zeļeznev played in March 2020when the theatrical collectives in a twist they participated in the context of the International Theater Day, then the puppeteers won the final against the Liepāja Theater. Another time, the actors of the New Riga Theater won their laurels with Gundars Āboliņas as the captain.

Professor Jānis Siliņš, a team member of the Eduards Smilģas Theater Museum of the Latvian Academy of Culture, is unimaginably rich. He chaired the first awards ceremony, which took place in 1994, wrote the screenplay for the event, was a director at least seven times, seven times also chairman of the jury commission and another three years in the jury. The name of Jānis Siliņš is very well known in the world of theater!

“Does that mean I’m a great scholar?” asks Jānis Siliņš.

The third member of the team is a student of Eduards Smiļģas himself, graduated from the 3rd acting studio of the Daile Theater, art expert Silvija Geikina. She has written several books on outstanding Latvian theatrical personalities, she is currently a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, with a hobby of travel and a lifelong joy: theater.

It may be that the game of the team of the Eduards Smilģis Theater Museum of the Latvian Academy of Culture was more convincing, because they had a fourth member – Smilļgis,

which was given to the opponents in the form of a photo and probably “confused the cards a bit”, because – what hasn’t been heard about Smiļģ’s “jokes and antics” yet!
