Violin and Piano Recital by Susan Collins and Rodolfo Ritter at National Conservatory of Music – Free Admission

The National Conservatory of Music, of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal) and the General Subdirectorate of Artistic Education and Research (Sgeia), will present the Violin and piano recitalby Susan Collins and Rodolfo Ritter, on March 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium Silvestre Revueltas.

The program is made up of masterpieces for these two instruments, indicated the pianist and CNM teacher, Rodolfo Ritter. “It will start with the baroque period with Sonata for violin and piano no. 4 in D major Op. 1, by JF Haëndel; After Mozart’s classical period come pieces of the so-called Romance German musical with Johannes Brahms, to close with Sergei Rachmaninoff, the last great Russian romantic composer,” he noted.

According to Maestro Ritter, Susan Collins comes to the National Conservatory of Music thanks to the collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Mexico and her visit will be a great learning opportunity for the students, he emphasized.

Violinist Susan Collins was born in Australia in 1966. In 1981 she was the youngest artist to perform, professionally, as soloist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She received her undergraduate degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before going to Berlin, where she studied at the Hochschule der Kunste with Thomas Zehetmair in 1989.

Rodolfo Ritter studied a Bachelor’s degree in Piano at the Higher School of Music. He completed postgraduate studies with a specialty in Chamber Music at the HEM in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2003 he received the gold medal, first place and special prize for Best Performance of Mexican music at the National Piano Competition. Angelica Morales Yamaha and won the Parnassos International Piano Competition (2003), including special prizes.
