Violent Street Fights at Migrant Shelter in Times Square Leave Two Injured and Multiple Arrests Made

Two men were injured in a pair of street fights involving dozens of people outside an migrant shelter in Times Square.

“I saw that a group of people were fighting, I don’t know if they were from Venezuela, there were about 20 or 30 of them and it looked ugly, it is very dangerous because they can cause a lot of problems in the city,” said a witness interviewed by Univision 41.

The minor suffered a wound to the back.

Police recovered a knife and a broomstick that was used as a weapon.

Seven people were arrested for the incident and another 16 are wanted for allegedly being involved in the fight.

Another attack leaves one injured and three arrested

Hours later, a 28-year-old man was hit in the head and wounded in the side during another fight that occurred meters away.

The second incident occurred at the intersection of 43rd Street and Broadway.

The subject was left lying on the sidewalk.

“There were four boys beating him and they knocked him to the ground and cut him, the police intervened but they continued,” commented another witness.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested three young people who were allegedly involved.
