Two people were probably injured during a massive fight and stabbing during a football match between two youth teams under 15 in Dinteloord on Saturday afternoon. A woman was stabbed in the lower back and a man suffered a cut to his hand. A youth player was also allegedly beaten by two adults. The reason for the conflict is not entirely clear.
According to eyewitnesses, emotions along the line became heated after a match between youth teams from football club VV Prinsenland and the visiting RKVV Roosendaal. This concerns players under the age of 15.
From the kick-off, according to bystanders, there was an unpleasant atmosphere around the football field. Parents who incited the players along the line and constantly bombarded the referee with criticism.
Blood
Things went crazy at the end of the second half. A fight broke out next to the field involving at least fifteen adults. Youth players also came along. A woman who tried to keep youth football players away from the conflict was reportedly stabbed in the lower back.
She only noticed her wound when she was sitting in the car and saw blood on the seat. The woman got to the hospital under her own power. There, medical staff stitched her wound. The victim says she will report the incident to the police this Saturday.
Baby brother
A member of the Prinsenland football club who saw the fight said that the young man with the knife was a supporter of RKVV Roosendaal. “It was the brother of a player from RKVV Roosendaal. He was already behaving unpleasantly during the match.”
According to him, things only really went wrong after the match. “This supporter spat in the referee’s face and started waving a knife. Then parents from both teams jumped on top.” The scuffle would then continue in the canteen of VV Prinsenland.
The police confirm that a report has been made about the fight at the sports park. And that a woman has suffered ‘an injury’.
