New settling of accounts in Grenoble. Probably linked to drug trafficking, a shooting broke out on the night of Monday June 5 to Tuesday June 6 in the Villeneuve district, injuring six men aged between 18 and 26, three of them seriously. None of their vital prognosis is however engaged.
This violent event particularly frightened the inhabitants. Around one o’clock in the morning, the residents of the city were suddenly awakened by the sound of several bursts, fired from an automatic weapon. “It was awful, it was Ukraine that night, it was war with heavy weapons”, says this witness, shocked to have seen “pools of blood” in this neighborhood which he describes as “the drug store“.
These bloody settling of accounts are multiplying in Grenoble. “It is often said of Grenoble that it is a little Marseille. The last assassination took place in broad daylight, it makes us fear the worstcollateral damage, a passerby… We also think of the colleagues who intervene on the spot”, confides Stéphane Giannesello, representative of the Alliance police union.
“It pulls a little in all directions“, he sums up, “We are talking about heavy weapons, weapons of war, settling of scores between rival gangs who hold the traffic”. After the shooting, the Grenoble prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into an attempt to ‘assassination.
