Violent Robbery: Three Armed Men Posing as Utility Workers in Terrifying Long Island Home Invasion

NEW YORK — Three men dressed as utility workers and armed with firearms forced their way into a Long Island home in a terrifying robbery, police said, and are still at large.

Thieves attacked the home in North Hills after 11am, posing as workers who needed access to the home. A 69-year-old woman was inside with her 35-year-old assistant, who opened the door.

The Yang family has lived in Folie Court for a decade and says it is generally safe, but in the last two years they have noticed a change in Nassau County. The district attorney said criminals are becoming bolder and residents need to be more aware.

“If you’re not sure, make a phone call, call the gas company and ask, ‘Did you send someone to my house about a gas leak?'” said District Attorney Anne Donnelly, who also recommended installing one. camera to talk to anyone at the door.

Because of the screams, the three men fled before they could grab anything.
