Three people were arrested by the police for the violent robbery of a valuable watch, a Patek Philippe worth over 100 thousand euros, against the footballer Napoli David Neres which took place last September 1st. The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit, who conducted the investigations, this morning carried out a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Naples: the measure struck Gianluca Cuomo, Giuseppe Vitale e Giuseppe Vecchioneall from the Lauro district of Fuorigrotta.
The alleged robbers would have reached the minivan in which the footballer was travelling, at the end of a football match and during the journey back to a hotel in the capital, and while he was stuck in traffic they shattered the glass of the rear window of this vehicle, having the valuables delivered under the threat of a weapon, and then fleeing. The criminal action, according to the investigations developed by the Carabinieri investigators coordinated by the judicial authority of Naples, was premeditated by the relevant perpetrators.
In the investigation documents there are also images from the video surveillance cameras which made it possible to film some phases of the raid: the moment in which the scooter on which there were two robbers followed Neres’ minivan can be seen. The images, however, do not capture the phases of the robbery which took place shortly afterwards. Subsequently, another camera records a car in which, according to the police, the robbers have gathered in the meantime, all finding themselves in one place. One of the robbers he took off his shoes to avoid being recognized. Own investigators had placed one on this car “bug” as part of another proceeding: this fortunate circumstance made it possible to intercept those responsible for the robbery. The robbery against the Brazilian footballer was a terrible “welcome”: Neres had only arrived in Italy a few days ago.
