Protests in France erupted on Tuesday evening, after the police shot 17-year-old Nael M., who had refused to comply with traffic police demands and stop the car. Despite the efforts of the medics, the young man, who was shot in the chest, died. The police officer who shot the young man was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
In an interview with France 5, the mother of the murdered young man accused the police officer of racism, saying that he killed her son because he saw “the face of an Arab”.
