Violent Incident in Trondheim: Witnesses Report Attempted Abduction and Serious Violence

Witnesses believe that a man exposed to violence was tried to be dragged into a car. The police describe the violence as serious.

The police in Trøndelag responded to a fight at Fosenkaia in Trondheim on Saturday evening.

Three people have been arrested and taken to the detention center.

Witnesses have explained that they saw a person being tried to be dragged into a car and that violence was used.

A video VG has been sent shows that three men appear to be dragging another towards a car. A short time later, more people arrive and the situation seems to resolve itself before the police arrive.

BASKETAK: It became dramatic when three men apparently tried to drag a man into a car at Fosenkaia in Trondheim.

– Quite serious violence

– I was quite far away. But we heard that he was screaming for his life, it was disgusting, says the person who sent the VG video.

He describes it as dramatic.

Operations manager at Trøndelag police district tells VG that witnesses have perceived this as an unpleasant incident.

– We understand that very well. There has been quite serious violence by these three against a person, says operations manager Viola Elverum to VG.

All those involved are already known to the police, she says.

Driven to emergency room

The arrested men, who are in their twenties and thirties, are now in custody awaiting questioning.

The victim is a man in his twenties.

He is not seriously injured, but has been taken to the emergency department for a check-up, says the operations manager.

She tells VG that there is some form of relationship between those involved.

– It was a prelude to that meeting here, she says and adds that they are not fully aware of it yet.
