Violent Incident at Dal Station in Eidsvoll Caught on Video: Bus Driver Suspected of Threats with Knife

A video of a violent incident at the Dal station in Eidsvoll is spreading on social media.

The video shows a fight between a bus driver and another person. Some distance into the video, the two collide and the driver falls to the ground.

Then he stands up, and takes something out of his pocket.

When the other person sees this, he starts running, with the bus driver behind him, before the latter stops shortly afterwards.

The police informed VG on Tuesday that they reported the incident themselves, after receiving the video from a witness.

The bus driver is currently suspected of threats with a knife or other object, the director of the investigative section Hege Cecilie Kvam told VG on Wednesday morning.

– It is only based on what we see on the outside of the bus, we don’t know why. The driver’s status as a suspect will continue to be assessed as we receive more information. We cannot rule out that the other party will be a suspect in the case.

Romerikes Blad has spoken to a witness who says she is absolutely sure the object was a knife. The director of the section Kvam says that the police have not decided that it is a knife that can be seen in the video.

Kvam says that they have been in contact with the bus driver, who came to the police alone. Police began questioning him on Tuesday afternoon.

The police do not yet know how the bus driver dealt with the suspect. When VG spoke to the police at 2pm on Wednesday, he was not named as a defendant.

Police do not currently know who the other person in the video is.

– He is not recognized, nor did he repeat himself. We are appealing for advice from the public if anyone knows who he is.

Police: Don’t share

That video has already been widely shared on social media. Police are advising the public not to share the video any further.

– We try to tell young people not to share videos of violent events. To participate, the police chief of the Eastern police district, Gunnar Foseid told VG on Tuesday morning.

He reminds us that it is a crime to share such recordings.

– The video shows two people who did not ask for their faces to be released publicly. We advise people to delete the video.

Vy: – There was no ticket

The company together Ways says the episode happened before 7:00pm on Monday.

The driver is employed by Vy Buss, which operates the route.

– The video may only show parts of the course of events, says Ruter Øystein Dahl Johansen’s media guard to VG.

Vy bus has informed Ruter about the incident. The company has started to obtain video material from the bus, which will be given to the police.

– Our driver says that there was a person who wanted to get on the bus who did not have a ticket, says communication manager at Vy Åge-Christoffer Lundeby to VG.

An argument then reportedly arose between the driver and the other man.

VG does not know the identity of any of the people involved, but has tried to contact the bus driver through Vy.

They don’t want to give VG research because the man is on sick leave.

The drive is tight

Lundeby’s communications manager says the driver has explained something about the incident.

– The driver got off the bus and is said to have explained that he was spat on and pushed. That’s all I know about baseball itself.

– Have you asked the driver how the fight ended?

– The driver has been very strict about the incident. He is on sick leave and will be followed up if help is needed.

The head of the Kvam section in the police says that they do not have an overview of what has happened, so she cannot confirm Vy’s information about the cause.

Lundeby says Vy Buss is leaving it up to the police to find out what happened and if anything criminal happened.
