A road drama took place in Grasse this Monday evening. They had passed shortly after 8:30 pm when a high-speed head-on collision occurred at No. 65 of the road to Draguignan, the axis that connects Grasse to Peymeinade, between a two-wheeler and a car.
The 42-year-old two-wheeler driver was in cardiorespiratory arrest when the firefighters arrived. Unfortunately, he died instantly despite rescue attempts to revive him.
Unharmed the driver of the car, 50 years old. He was an alcoholic. He was taken by the police to the Grasse police station.
The road to Draguignan, closed to traffic during the emergency interventions, was reopened around 22:20.
National police are currently investigating the circumstances of the shock.
