Twenty-six residents of a seven-storey apartment building (the ground floor of which is occupied by a convenience store) evacuated the premises before the arrival of help, as well as a dozen people who were in the parking lot. The fire involved two vehicles parked on the third level. It was extinguished by means of two lances by the firefighters who, upon their arrival, also engaged in reconnaissance to ensure that no one had been trapped by the smoke in the building.
The disaster was extinguished quickly and the inhabitants were able to return to their homes around 6 p.m.
We did not know this Monday whether the car park will reopen in the hours or days to come.
