On the first weekend in November, the federal police in Munich were confronted with numerous violent crimes, particularly in the evening and night hours. In several cases there were threats. In one case, a table was used as a projectile.
On Friday (November 3rd), a 42-year-old Romanian threatened a Deutsche Bahn security patrol at the northern exit of Munich Central Station with a wine bottle around 4:15 a.m. When the patrol arrived, the man was already handcuffed. He was taken to the federal police station together with security service employees. According to initial investigations, the 42-year-old from Schwäbisch Gmünd was shouting loudly at the train station, which is why the security service spoke to him. He was escorted out of the train station. He grabbed a wine bottle that had been left on the sidewalk and threatened the security staff with it. When he approached security, they took him to the ground and handcuffed him. The person who was drunk at around 1.3 per mille (according to a voluntary breath alcohol test) was banned from the house by Deutsche Bahn. He is being investigated for attempted grievous bodily harm and threats. After completing all measures, he was released.
On the evening of November 3rd, an unknown person threatened a group of people with a pocket knife. An 18-year-old from Leipzig and a 19-year-old from Taucha were traveling by train from Nuremberg to Munich when they met the unknown man on the train. He complimented them and then went to sleep a few rows behind them. Shortly after 7 p.m. the train arrived at Munich Central Station and the two young men met an 18-year-old friend on the cross platform. Here the stranger ran into them again and wanted to hug the men goodbye. Since he was uncomfortable, one of the men tried to free himself from the hug, whereupon the unknown man became aggressive and told him that he wanted to kill him. He showed a pocket knife. The unknown man then began to kiss the other men during the hug before they could break free from his grip. The unknown man then left towards the city center and the group of three filed a report with the federal police. A local search was unsuccessful. The federal police are investigating threats and coercion. The recordings from the camera systems at the main station are also evaluated for this purpose.
At around 10:45 p.m. on November 3rd, there was a physical altercation at Munich’s Ostbahnhof between a 47-year-old Romanian and a 55-year-old German security employee at a fast food restaurant. The Romanian begged the 55-year-old at the main entrance to the fast food restaurant, whereupon he expelled him from the premises. The homeless man then became aggressive, insulted and spat on the 55-year-old. He took a table in both hands, raised it above his head and tried to throw it towards the security guard, who was able to block the throw. Two witnesses, a 23-year-old Syrian and a 20-year-old German, then intervened in the event and, together with security, brought the Romanian out of the fast food restaurant, where an alert federal police patrol met him. A breath alcohol test carried out voluntarily on the 47-year-old showed a level of 2.3 per mille. The responsible public prosecutor’s office ordered the Romanian, who had a previous conviction, to be brought before a judge on November 4th. The man was taken into custody. He is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm and insult.
On November 4th at around 5:30 a.m., federal police officers on foot patrol at Munich Central Station became aware of a loud argument between a group of people on the mezzanine floor. According to initial investigations, three German women aged 18 and 19 respectively insulted a 25-year-old Afghan and an 18-year-old German and were then physically attacked by both with punches and kicks. During the physical altercation, the 19-year-old’s handbag and smartphone were damaged. The federal police patrol initiated all necessary police measures. Afterwards, everyone involved was able to continue on their way. Everyone involved refused medical care. The federal police are investigating bodily harm and damage to property or insults.
On Saturday afternoon (November 4th) around 2:30 p.m., the federal police received reports of a physical altercation in an S8 stationary at Munich Pasing train station. According to initial findings, a 57-year-old Pole was loudly rioting on the S-Bahn towards Munich Airport, whereupon two travelers approached him and held him down. A 45-year-old Hungarian had his jacket torn by the Pole. When state and federal police arrived, the man continued to be aggressive and refused to provide his personal details. He was taken to the federal police station at the main train station. Here he tried several times to wriggle out of the officers’ grip and threw a shoe towards an officer’s head. As part of the resistance actions, the Pole living in Germering sustained a laceration to his head. After his personal details were established, the responsible public prosecutor’s office ordered a blood sample to be taken. He was then taken to a hospital to be treated for his laceration and then released. He is being investigated for damage to property, bodily harm, attacking police officers and resisting law enforcement officers.
