Violent collision in central Braga leaves three injured

Casa da Arquitetura – Portuguese Architecture Center, in Matosinhos, announced today that it will start on March 28, in Porto, the Souto de Moura Itinerary, which will include eight visits to 15 works, from north to south of the country.

The initiative, organized under the parallel program of the exhibition “Souto de Moura: Memory, Projects, Works”, will allow “intimate and privileged access to some icons of national architecture, from the Barragem do Tua to the Estádio de Braga, passing by Casa das Histórias and Convento das Bernardas, always accompanied by specialists, including Souto de Moura himself ”, explains Casa da Arquitetura, in a statement.

According to the institution, the objective is “to bring the public closer to fundamental works with one of the most awarded and recognized Portuguese architects”.

The Souto de Moura Itinerary will take place between the months of March and September.

Aimed at all audiences, the first visit takes place on March 28, at 11:00 am, and will contemplate the Metro do Porto project. It will be the architect André Campos, collaborator of Eduardo Souto de Moura between 2002 and 2012, “to lead the gaze of the participants through curiosities and constructive details of the Campo 24 de Agosto, Bolhão and Trindade stations”.

In addition to Porto, the Souto de Moura Itinerary will pass through Lisbon, Alijó / Sabrosa, Matosinhos, Aveiro, Braga / Amares and Algarve.

Registration for visits opens two to three weeks before the date of the visit.

The first visit, which must be registered by March 18, will cost 15 euros and will last about one hour. It starts at the Metro Station Campo 24 de Agosto, then goes to the stations of Bolhão and Trindade, where it ends.

The itinerary continues on April 4, at Casa das Histórias and Casa do Professor, in Cascais, with specialists Sérgio Koch and Ricardo Prata, and on May 9, in Alijó / Sabrosa, at Tua Dam and Espaço Miguel Torga, with specialists Tiago Figueiredo, Pedro Guedes de Oliveira.

Next to May 23, Casas Pátio and Marginal, in Matosinhos, with Pedro Guedes de Oliveira, and Aveiro, on June 6, to the Geosciences Department of the University of Aveiro, with Pedro Guedes de Oliveira.

On July 11, in Braga / Amares, the visits will be to the Santa Maria do Bouro Convent, Carandá Municipal Market and Braga Municipal Stadium, with Eduardo Souto de Moura and Luís Peixoto. On September 12 he returns to Porto, to Casa das Artes and Edifício do Burgo, with Diogo Guimarães.

The initiative ends, in the Algarve, on September 26, with visits to Convento das Bernardas and Casa da Quinta do Lago, with the participation of specialists Tiago Figueiredo and Pedro Guedes de Oliveira.

Casa da Arquitetura, created in 2017, in Matosinhos, is a non-profit entity that develops work in the universe of creation and programming of contents for the national and international dissemination of architecture to society.
