Chants, smoke bombs, drums and fireworks: this is how around a thousand Paris Saint-Germain fans prepared for tonight’s match against Milan, gathering in Piazza Duomo in Milan. The police were present and initially blocked access to the metro stops, later freeing them with the French fans who now headed towards Piazzale Lotto, where the buses arrived with thousands more fans from Paris. From there, the fans’ procession will then start and head towards San Siro, with the Champions League match scheduled for 9pm.

Judge, PSG fan arrested, now move away from Milan

He will have to “immediately leave” Milan, where he will “not be able to return”, otherwise he risks ending up in prison. With these words, in the courtroom, the judge validated the flagrant arrest and ordered the residence ban in the Lombardy capital for the PSG ultra involved in last night’s clashes with the AC Milan ultras and accused of resistance to a public official and injuries. According to police investigations, the 30-year-old hit one of the officers who intervened to break up the scuffles in the face with a bar (the policeman received a 5-day prognosis). The young man, questioned in court, said that “it was the AC Milan fans who attacked us while we were sitting in a bar” in the Navigli area. And he then tried to claim that he had not hit the officer, but that he had “threw the bar to the ground”. The judge did not believe the man’s version, highlighting the “serious indications of guilt” against him and the “precautionary needs for the protection of the community”, as well as the danger that he would commit other crimes of the same type. “I was in a bar with some friends and all of a sudden the AC Milan fans came to attack us. Personally I received a club on my shoulders, they attacked me while I was sitting,” said the 30-year-old, who said he lives in Paris and of being an employee of a company. “I was scared – he continued before the judge – I ran away from them, I took refuge in a restaurant and when I went out I equipped myself with an iron bar that I found, it was a piece of a chair. Then, when the police arrived they turned me on the wall and I said ‘calm down’ and raised my hands. In the meantime I had thrown the bar to the ground.”

The Police Headquarters: one arrest and 73 French identified

During the evening service held in the city centre, the police stopped and identified 73 French citizens who were PSG fans – the Police Headquarters reconstructs -. Subsequently, at 00.05, a group of around fifty people, presumably AC Milan fans as ascertained by
testimonies, he came from the Alzaia Naviglio Pavese to head towards Ripa di Porta Ticinese where the PSG fans were and became the protagonists of a series of violent actions and then fled into via Argelati.

To bring the situation back to normal, in Piazza XXIV Maggio it was necessary for the police to calm down the French fans. In those circumstances, a policeman was hit in the leg by a blunt object, suffering a lacerated-bruised wound, while another was hit by another object, suffering a wound to the lip.

The person responsible for the latest wounding was stopped and arrested for resisting and injuring a public official.

A dispute also between PSG and Chinese fans

The violent episode that occurred around midnight on the Navigli in Milan was not the only one in the city yesterday evening. A few minutes after one in the morning, a police car intervened in via Paolo Sarpi, in the Chinatown of the Lombardy capital, due to a dispute between 15 Paris Saint-Germain fans and ten Chinese citizens. The dispute was quelled and the intervention of the 118 health assistance was not necessary.

At 2am, however, a police car intervened in a hostel in via Regina Margherita where some French supporters were staying: one of them, a 28-year-old, had a lacerated wound on his head and reported to the police that he had been hit a few hours earlier in the Darsena area ; he was taken to Fatebenefratelli hospital. in non-serious conditions.

Public order services with police, carabinieri, financial police and local police will continue in the city in the places of greatest tourist influx and aggregation until tomorrow night.
