The BEPE escort team managed to repel the attack and the buses were able to continue their journey towards the Nilton Santos Stadium, when at another point in Dutra, in the São João de Meriti section, there was a second ambush by Botafogo fans, this time at the entrance to the Red Line.
In this episode, Santos fans disembarked from the buses and there was an intense confrontation between members of the organized fans of both teams. Agents from the Bepe Choque force acted using weapons with less offensive potential in order to contain the attacks.
During the action, dozens of fans were arrested by Military Police agents. In the same incident, two military police officers were injured when the driver of one of the Santos buses took off with the intention of fleeing the scene of the confrontation, colliding with the BEPE vehicle.
The police officers were taken to the Nova Iguaçu General Hospital, in the Posse neighborhood. Their health condition is considered stable. In total, 121 people were taken to the Special Criminal Court at the Nilton Santos Stadium, in Engenho de Dentro, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
