Despite the fact that several ambulances were present in the area to attend to the emergency, the victims lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
At sunset last Friday, August 5, a traffic accident was recorded on the Ibagué – Mariquita road in which three people who were traveling on two motorcycles lost their lives, which collided at kilometer seven.
Two of the deceased were husbands between 28 and 30 years of age, while the third victim is a 27-year-old from Santa Isabel.
The accident
The Ibagué traffic authorities announced that last Friday afternoon there was a crash at kilometer 7 plus 980 meters of the Ibagué – Mariquita road, in which three people lost their lives who were identified as Ferney Guzmán Beltrán, of 28 years old, Beatriz Eugenia Gutiérrez Díaz, 30 and Brayan Libardo Suza Osorio, 27.
The first two victims were husbands and they were traveling on board the Bajaj Boxer CT 100 black motorcycle with license plate NLW 71D; while the third person who died was a young man from Santa Isabel who was traveling in a gray Yamaha with black line FZN 250, license plate GDO 53F.
According to Olga Lucía Liévano, Secretary of Mobility of Ibagué, it was a collision between the two vehicles, which was attended by two agents from said portfolio, who determined that both vehicles had the documentation in order.
Traffic on this road, known as Route 4305, was suspended in both directions for approximately two hours while the urgent acts were carried out. Around seven at night, the Alternativas Viales Concessionaire reported that it was already enabled.
The victims
Ferney Guzmán Beltrán and Beatriz Eugenia Gutiérrez Díaz were married and had been together since the end of 2019. It was established that Ferney was a native of the village of San Diego de Mariquita, served his military service in the National Army, and had worked as a security guard. and was currently a supervisor. On her part, Beatriz Eugenia was from Bogota, the mother of an 11-year-old girl and had been living with Ferney and her daughter for several months in Ibagué.
In the case of Brayan Libardo Suza Osorio, it was known that he was from Santa Isabel, but he was currently living in Ibagué and in February he had turned 27 years old. Several friends from his municipality, as well as loved ones, remembered him and said goodbye with messages through their social networks:
“We always wait for the people we love the most to leave us to tell them how important they were in our lives… Primo with you I shared moments of childhood that can never be forgotten and although we moved away, I always had you in mind. Today I have to say goodbye to you forever and with this goodbye I also say goodbye to the opportunity to see you again. Will always remember you. Rest in peace, ”wrote one of her relatives.
