A 28-year-old man died and at least four more people were injured this Sunday during a shooting in a nightclub in the town of Hartford, in the state of Connecticut (USA), local police reported.
“The victim of the homicide is a 28-year-old man,” Hartford Police said on his Twitter account, about the incident that occurred at dawn on Sunday.
According to the information, a man and a woman had to undergo surgery, while the other two survivors remained in stable condition.
The US network CNN said the shooting reportedly broke out after an altercation between two groups that departed at the site, without requiring further details.
Lieutenant Paul Cicero of the Hartford Police said, cited by CNN, that it was not a fortuitous shooting and considered premature to anticipate if the incident is gang related.
The local WTNH-TV station pointed out that for the moment no suspects have been revealed and the surveillance cameras will be indispensable in the investigation of the causes and perpetrators of the attack.
Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin said, according to WTNH, that the dispute “became deadly because the individuals were in possession of illegal weapons.”
WTNH said the Majestic Lounge nightclub promoted a Latin Saturday on its Facebook page to celebrate the birthday of the people of the Aquarius sign.
