Violence Escalates in the West Bank and Lebanon: Israel’s War on Hamas and Clashes with Hezbollah

Violence is intensifying in the West Bank and Lebanon.

Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip continues into its seventh day after an initial attack by Hamas terrorists left more than 1,200 people massacred and 3,192 injured in southern Israel. More than 130 Israelis, including foreigners, are being held captive by Hamas in the besieged enclave.

About it writes local publication Haaretz.

At least 1,800 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza since the war began.

Palestinians fled the northern Gaza Strip and moved south after the Israeli army ordered the evacuation of more than 1 million residents of the territory, allowing the army to carry out its apparent first ground incursion since the war began.

During the invasion, the IDF said it had found the bodies of Israelis held captive by Hamas and “destroyed the infrastructure and terrorist units.”

Hamas continued to fire rockets into Israel throughout the day, with one rocket intercepted in the north of the country – further from Gaza – by the Sling of David defense system.

Hamas said it launched 150 rockets toward the southern city of Ashkelon in response to Israeli displacement and shelling of civilians. One woman was moderately injured in Rehovot, and rockets also caused property damage to homes in Ashkelon and Sderot.

Violence between Israelis and Palestinians also escalated in the West Bank, where Israeli forces killed 14 people during clashes on a Palestinian day of rage declared by Hamas.

In the village of At-Tuwani near Hebron, an Israeli settler shot and killed a Palestinian at point-blank range during a confrontation, seriously wounding him in the presence of an IDF soldier.
