Punalur (Kollam)- The KSRTC Punalur depot office was led by the SFI leader to demand the return of the concession ticket after paying the fine for the lost concession ticket. The activists beat up the conductor in front of the police and disrupted the office work. During the violence, the female superintendent fell ill. Injured conductor Shailu, Superintendent R. Mini was admitted to Punalur Taluk Hospital. There is also a complaint that death threats were made against the conductor. Transport office operations and a bus service were suspended. On the complaint of ATO, the police registered a case against two persons.

There was an attack on the employees at eleven o’clock yesterday. Govt. A student of a commercial institute lost her concession ticket recently. The student paid Rs 500 as a fine to get a new one. But after getting back the stolen concession card, the student went to the depot and asked to return the fine amount. But the superintendent informed that it cannot be returned as this amount has been credited to the account.

KSRTC officials said that after this yesterday morning a key office bearer of SFI Punalur area came along with another worker and created problems over non-return of money. Shailu was grabbed and beaten when she tried to stop them from robbing the superintendent. The identity card of the superintendent was also torn up. Mini collapsed in the office during the threat. The youths were repelled by more staff and police.
