The days pass, and unfortunately, are alike, at the Reims prison.
Working conditions are deteriorating day by day, and in a cause and effect relationship, agents are becoming more and more worn out.
In recent months, episodes of violence have multiplied within detention:
- Lynching while walking
- Aggression in the cell with the blow of a stove
- Multiple attacks in the showers
- Attempted homicide in cell
- Death threats against officers
On April 4, when there were 23 inmates from the 2nd floor on the yard, a violent brawl broke out. Two individuals were targeted by a group of several detainees, some of whom are already far too unfavorably known to our services. Result: two detainees injured, one of whom was quite seriously and required an emergency extraction.
