Violence against women, Lombardy Region lit up in orange

(ANSA) – MILAN, 24 NOV – Palazzo Lombardia and Palazzo Pirelli today and tomorrow will be lit up in orange, the symbolic color of the World Day to Combat Violence against Women which is celebrated every 25 November. “It is the first of a series of initiatives which – explains President Attilio Fontana – together with the awareness campaign on social media, created thanks to the availability of the Lombard actress Matilde Gioli, the Lombardy Region is implementing to make people understand how important it is to spread clear messages and recognizable against violence against women and feminicides”. Like last week, next week too, a red bench will be displayed at the entrance to the square that houses the Regional Council Building. And, again, tomorrow morning the regional councilor for Family, Social Solidarity, Disability and Equal Opportunities, Elena Lucchini, organized the event dedicated to students at the Testori Auditorium: ‘Against violence, break the silence’. In the afternoon, at the Belvedere, the institutional talk ‘Against violence, a network at your side’ and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Order of Psychologists regarding the fight against violence against women. The Councilor for Security and Civil Protection, Romano La Russa, in the heart of Milan, in Piazza San Babila, will instead be alongside the information pagoda and the State Police camper where qualified personnel will provide assistance and answer citizens’ questions.
