Quite recently I had the pleasure of testing the Viofo WM1 car camera for you. It was a good camera. It recorded films in eye-pleasing quality, was inexpensive and so … discreet. Viofo A139 Pro is already … a slightly different pair of wellingtons. This is a video recorder on the go, which, at a price of about one and a half thousand zlotys, in its all-inclusive variant, allows you to record videos of what is happening on the road in front of and behind our car, and to record the image from the inside!

Viofo A139 Pro comes in several versions. We can choose the main module with the Sony Starvis 2 sensor alone – this is the first camera on the Polish market with this sensor, but we can also choose the main module with an additional rear camera, as well as a variant with a camera attached to the interior. In this 3-channel option, the equipment was tested by us.

What can the 3-channel version of Viofo A139 Pro do?

We have a Sony Starvis 2 sensor here, which allows you to record in 4K resolution in HDR mode from the main camera – from the central module, from the heart of the entire system. Sztosik! In additional recorders, we also have the valued Sony IMX291 modules. Additionally:

• the angle of view of the lens is 140 degrees for the front camera and 170 degrees for the other cameras,
• aperture f/1.6,
• GPS, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz in the main module to which we connect other cameras,
• G-Sensor and shock recognition,
• messages in Polish,
• support for memory cards up to 256 GB,
• loop recording, automatic recording start and other functions typical for video recorders,
• and advanced parking modes.

The quality of the videos is impressive

How are the videos recorded by Viofo A139 Pro? In our video, we have inserted cuts from individual modules, so I encourage you to watch and draw your own conclusions. In my opinion, it’s great, and the image from the main module is already a dope – clear, coping with x-rays, very stable. Night shots are also great, which is probably influenced by a large 1 in 1/8 inch sensor.

Ease of use and a multitude of configuration options

Just like the smaller, cheaper and less advanced camera, i.e. the Viofo WM1, the Viofo A139 Pro surprises with its ease of use. On the main module you will find 5 buttons that turn the device on or off, turn on or turn off recording, protect the recorded video, and turn on or off the microphone or Wi-Fi network. There are also ports for connecting the other two cameras and even an external microphone.

Thanks to Wi-Fi, we can connect the camera to the application, which is super convenient and easy, and it takes a moment. The application, as you probably already know, is also well-thought-out and allows you to easily manage the work of the video recorder. We will change the image parameters here, the way the parking mode works and stuff. In short, we have the entire control center on the smartphone, which is great. Voice messages in Polish are also appreciated during everyday use.

It is also nice that, despite the level of advancement, the Viofo A139 Pro is quite a small, neat camera. We are talking about the main module, because the other cameras are almost imperceptible – small, discreet, nicely blending in the interior of the car. The cameras are mounted using adhesives – here it is worth sticking the electrostatic film attached to the equipment to the glass first, so that later you can easily remove the cameras from the car windows.

Advanced parking modes as a complement to the whole

Viofo A139 Pro has GPS, thanks to which it shows us the location and speed on the recording, G-Sensor and motion recognition, which means that it starts automatically and can automatically protect the recording, or, for example, turn on in parking mode when someone runs or passes and even – horror of horrors – hit our car.

If we have a camera permanently connected to the vehicle’s electrical system, we can use advanced parking modes. Here we have the choice of turning on recording when motion or hits are detected, the possibility of continuous recording in time-lapse mode or with a lower bitrate. This works perfectly and is useful, especially when we park in some crowded parking lot.

Worth it or not worth it? That is the question…

For those drivers who drive a lot, and for drivers of international transport or sales representatives, it is at all – the hero of this film, Viofo A139 Pro, can be unquestionably recommended, because this camera can do everything! It records a very good quality image and allows you to record a road event in a comprehensive way.

In the 3-channel variant, we have a recording from in front of the hood of our car, behind its rear window, as well as video from inside the car. Well, you can’t handle more complex material! In other words, excellent equipment, designed for those who care about the most complete and reliable record of events that occur randomly on the road and can happen to each of us!
