Vio-Lence to start recording their comeback EP in January

Reunited San Francisco Bay Area thrashers Vio-Lence will enter Trident Studios in Pacheco, Calif. On January 18 to begin recording their new EP, tentatively scheduled for late summer via Metal Blade Records.

Producer Juan Urteaga, who has worked with Testament, Machine Head and Exodus, among many others, will lead the sessions.

Vocalist Sean Killian has previously described Vio-Lence’s new music as “a cross between Eternal [Nightmare de 1988], Oppressing [The Masses de 1990] and the 1993 demo ”.

It’s fast, it’s heavy. We have good riffs and stuff like that. […] We think people are going to go crazy when they hear it. We have heavy words, heavy themes. We’re not a political group, so when I say “heavy” it’s just crazy stuff that pops out of my head.

Last August, Vio-Lence released a new digital single, California Über Alles, a cover of the Dead Kennedys classic. The group also shot a music video for the song with director Scott Kirkeeng.
