The inaugural edition of Vinitaly USA scheduled today and tomorrow at Navy Pier in Chicago has the participation of more than 230 companies and more than 1,650 labels for tasting in an area of 13,000 square meters.
The event offers a program of more than 30 events over two days, including master classes, tastings and market focuses.
Organized by Veronafisi and Fiere Italiane in collaboration with Ita – Italian Trade Agency – the event has the support of the main Italian institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, the Italian Embassy in Washington and the consulate general in Chicago.
Also present were representatives of Assocamerestero and the main professional organizations, such as Unione Italiana Vini, Federvini, Confagricoltura and Coldiretti.
The Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, the president of the Ice Agency, Matteo Zoppas, and the president of Veronafirm, Federico Bricolo, participated in the ribbon cutting.
Among the scheduled events is the business forum promoted by the Ice Agency in collaboration with Nabi (National Association of Beverage Importers) on the topic “Between tradition and innovation: the future of Italian wine in the US market” in collaboration with Vinitaly and the American Wine Importers Association.
The 2024 edition will also host the American preview of Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso and, finally, an event will be held at The University Club of Chicago to celebrate the candidacy of Italian cuisine to be recognized as UNESCO intangible heritage.
